A Bloody Nightmare
American Red Cross
NEVE CAMPBELL! I love Neve Campbell. It’s great to see the return of Campbell, star of the original horror hit, Scream in this ‘bloodless’ American Red Cross ad.
ARC appeals to horror fans and questions their life choices when confronted with a horror movie scene. Why go to Lovers Creek on Friday the 13th when there’s a blood shortage at the local hospital?
“Guess I’m going to waste all this blood by dying in a predictable horror movie,” says one man as a horde of zombies attempt to break through the gate.
The point of the campaign, created by BBDO New York, is to remind viewers that however much they enjoy bloodshed in the movies — and apparently 50% of Americans love film gore — that doesn’t translate to the donation figures, with only 3% of the US giving blood. Source Creative Review
