Are they REALLY there for the greater good? Is that why apartheid was so universally loved? Rules aren't always there for the greater good. My cousins weren't allowed to leave Russia in the 80's because they were Jews. Is that another example of rules working for the betterment of civilized society? Homosexuality was outlawed until late 19th century in England...not all rules. Not all society. Not everything should be followed blindly.
