As noted by another commenter...is it being a selfish dick or a case of cultural expectations. Is the Middle East less polite because they don't say thank you? Are Israelis all dicks because they answer their mobile with a 'yes' rather than a hello? Is it being polite or being programmed? Are the Turks rude people from having a lack of 'manners'?

I think you need to get over yourself and look outside your own cultural bubble before you start accusing people of being dicks.
