Babyboom
IKEA
When you name your child after furniture, surely it’s time to stop making babies? IKEA attempt to cash in on a suspected baby boom by trawling through their catalog and locating names.
Can you imagine the conversation you have with your child when they grow up and ask about their name?
“Yes, my little Tabby. We were browsing the IKEA catalog and were drawn to a coffee table that looked and felt absolutely divine. We knew Table was the perfect name for you.”
It isn’t as ridiculous as it sounds. IKEA has an incredible array of names that sound quite exotic to non-Swedes.
“Billy is of course featured, though alongside an image of a chair from 1970 rather than the brand’s more famous bookcase, along with other choice ideas including Amadeus — “keeps nothing secret” — and Rakel — “booksmart and easy to hang with”.” Source Creative Review
