Can I also add, that’s never discussed but worth mentioning, weighting. I publish stories in the History tag and a specialist History publication. I get as many reads as my normal publication but the money is 5x more. So what’s happening here? Is history payouts weighted more? Are history readers reading less writers and thus their share of payout dividend is higher?

It’s worth noting, our publication attracts regular and prolific readers and writers. I can only conclude if you aim the occasional reader rather than a Medium advocate, you’ll earn more. The question is, where to find them?
