Context IS everything. I clearly remember the first time I watched this. It was on a beach in Indonesia (Gili Islands), feeling homesick having been on the road for a couple of years, sitting alone and eating an exotic meal of fresh fish. This film cheered me up and I've loved it ever since especially since it featured The Stone Roses greatest track!
