Every household in Christchurch, New Zealand, has a 'go-bag'. We know only too well what happens when you have to leave in an emergency. For us, it took a couple of earthquakes to jolt the complacent. But add flooding and wildfires to that list. People in Wellington are also prepared as they've been forewarned for years about an incoming earthquake. It's not crazy...its sensible. As for climate change as the reason to run...well, I would be less inclined if I lived in London or Auckland.
