Good point. I'll listen to the same music over and over again because it makes me happy or reflects my mood. I'll usually reread a book becuase I want to capture that intitail feeling. That surprise. That joy.. Usually its because I've forgotten the words within the book.

But films? I guess being subjected to my wife or my children's repeated viewings of really crap movies/animations/series etc has made me numb.

Truth is, I struggle now to read a book without falling asleep (medical condition)...or stay awake long enough to watch a film. Old movies allow me the luxury to close my eyes because I've seen it all before.

Music...always reflects activity. I'm active doing something (drawing/writing/design/housework etc). I think its the act of being still that makes me reluctant to revisit old movies.

Stillness.

That's not to say in my youth I didn't watch and rewatcvh movies and loved analysing them (art school).
