I always love the opening scenes in any future driven movie. The post apocalypse landscape. The ‘how’ it happened. The toll on humanity and the planet. For some reason, i just find it fascinating to watch the destruction of so many cities and so many lives. The tsunami washing over American coastlines or the big quake at the end. The rest of the plot is the usual hero journey or another damp squib trying to rescue the girl/family/dog whatever. Show me the mayhem every time!
