I started with unlocked posts for months and the views were pretty good (arriving via Linkedin)…but my follower count wasn’t moving very fast. It also became a source of irritation that I hadn’t signed up to Medium and was still giving away my IP. If I ever do get big on Medium, I’ll continue to operate behind the paywall because (as a graphic designer), I don’t believe in working for free just for exposure.
