I think for prolific writers it's almost impossible to read everything they write. I read maybe 1 in 5 of your stories and click whenever they appear. So maybe, whatever your follower account, only 1/5 are initially shown your work.
This is the case on most platforms. They push it out to a small amount of your followers first and if they all read then it gets pinged to a larger audience and then a larger audience and then larger and so on and so on. It's that initial hour that counts.
And then, how many followers are still active? I'm sure 1/3 have dropped off Medium. Like fantasy football, in a game of 9 million, 4 million registered teams are dead teams.
