It's a fun quip coming from a Jew. My family would often remark on the cheapness of certain relatives describing them as typical Jews. We would all laugh. Now a little older and wiser, I don't find it in any way funny especially when it becomes normalized language (as it has always been since what...14th century?) .
Great story Terry. It does make me think how I want to raise my children. Is it aright to refer to stereotypes even when a Jew says them? It all sounds unkind and that, I guess, is the point.
