It's an interesting question isnt it? At what point do you cut off? In our community there are children whose mothers arent Jewish but raised in the customs and practices of judaism. Are they less Jewish? Somebody has to make a call and the Rabbis are doing that. But...if the person considers themselves jewish and have been jewish all their life, is it right to then call them unless? A total blanket covering everyone isnt the answer.
