My mum is always talking about the Indians and Poles taking the jobs and taking over the neighborhood. She’s half polish and married an Indian. It’s being scared of change. The neighborhood has moved on. The people have moved out and you want to cling to the familiar. It’s that or old age (and lack of oxygen to the brain…)
