No denying theres racist connotations to start but this sentence is a bit of a reach:

“White people felt uncomfortable giving ‘Mr’ and ‘Miss’ honorifics to Black people.”

It’s a failure to understand simple marketing and brand it as another racist action. Just take a look at advertising around that or any time and ask yourself why theres no brands with Mr.in their name. It’s because Uncle and Aunt are friendlier and more informal. Uncle Sam being a prime example.
