One of the biggest issues is echo chambers. The more we read and like and clap, the more we see the same stuff that reinforces our entrenched view. People have become lazy. No one wants to go to a library and explore the bookshelf. Research involves a 10 minute google search. Short cuts and hacks to life are ubiquitous. Time is an enemy and now we’re actively inventing apps and wellbeing courses to learn to slow down.

I miss my youth and the freedom of time. The moments spent laying in a field listening to the world. The joy of discovery from flipping through a record store. The slow wander through an art gallery that’s made impossible with the arrival of children.
