Privacy on iPhone-Data Auction
Apple
“And now for the one you’ve all been waiting for…”
Has to be the nudes right? Another stylish ad from Apple as they double-down on their privacy settings. It all feels rather ludicrous when you take your data out of context and have it sold in a public auction, but that’s exactly what everybody is doing right now.
How worried should you be? Are you bothered by ads tracking your spending? Your data being sold to 3rd parties to influence elections? Is this just a price for modern living? Can we really trust Apple which has been selling our personal data for years and then holding it for ransom in some imaginary cloud waiting for us to purchase space in an unlimited spatial environment?
You take your chances right?
“Previous ads in the series have seen Apple highlight the ‘invisible’ issue of data tracking by showing how it would feel if it was taking place in real life, rather than more illicitly in digital environments. Naturally, as soon as the idea of others reading our private messages and tracking our data is shown in everyday settings, it appears both ludicrous and appalling.” Source Creative Review
