The Invisible Opponent — CALM and Declan Rice
Following on from last year’s successful advert that featured Tyson Fury battling an invisible opponent in the ring, CALM return with a powerful follow up.
This time it’s West Ham captain and England midfielder, Declan Rice. The footage removes his teammates and the opposition showing Rice out on the field, alone. He runs, passes and tackles an unseen opponent as the crowd jeers and shouts abuse from the sidelines.
It’s a powerful and moving film that ends with Rice accepting a hand-up from a teammate.
I love the sense of loneliness evoked in this advert. It’s incredibly moving.
“A mix of footage from England games was used along with additional shot footage of Rice playing. The other players were then painstakingly removed, with lighting and interaction edits in post-production used to make the final effects convincing and unnerving.” Creative Review
