There is no easy answer to this. Does being good excuse past behavior? If you've helped 1000 people but abused one, are you excused? How bad is bad? For me, its easy to detach past work from the artist especially in music. But I would certaiinly think twice about future work. I liked Louis CK but have no wish to seeing anything he does in the future.
