…mediately disgusted by everyone who smoked. How dare they? Second-hand smoke was the silent killer! I grew up on binary thinking. For or against. Pro or con. Pick a side — no nuancing allowed.

This is so true! And then we had an AIDS epidemic and even sex became binary...Live or Die? Whore and death or Virgin and marriage? Hmmm...maybe it was always the way.
