This is such a good point! Will Medium actually enforce that rule? Much like Youtube, when you have clickbait that's causing controversy, you don't pull down the cash cow, you simply demonetize the author. I suspect you'll still be able to read their work, they simply won't be paid (fine print!). Medium will continue to reap the benefits drawing readers in at no extra cost.
