This reminds me of my 1st layoff. I was invited out for a breakfast just before Christmas break, by my manager for the first time ever. He was super jovial and laughed at my jokes (something he had never done before) and then he asked "Will we be seeing you in the new year?" I thought that was a weird thing to ask.

First week back in the new year, I return from a photoshoot and pulled into the office where I get told to go home and think about my future. They were busy preparing the paperwork to begin the 'change process'. I quit before I got disciplined and then fired (which is how the previous 5 employees left the company).
